The JWST-UVIT COSPAR Meeting will be held at CHRIST University, Central campus, Bangalore, which will also serve as the venue for lodging. Accommodation and meals will be fully provided for students and lecturers throughout the two-week workshop. Lecturers will have individual rooms, while participants traveling from outside Bangalore, India, will share accommodations on campus or in nearby facilities.
Additionally, selected participants may receive partial reimbursement (approximately 50%) of the lowest available travel fare to support their attendance.
How to reach Bangalore Central Campus
CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Central Campus, is located in Hosur Road, Bengaluru, about 40 km from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). Here are the best ways to reach the campus:
1. By Airport Taxi (Fastest & Most Convenient)
You can book an airport taxi from Ola, Uber, or airport prepaid taxis available at the airport.
Travel time: 1 to 1.5 hours (depending on traffic).
Approximate fare: ₹1,200 - ₹1,800.
2. By BMTC Airport Shuttle (Budget-Friendly Option)
Take the BMTC Vayu Vajra (KIAS-7 or KIAS-8) bus from the airport.
Get down at Shantinagar Bus Station, which is around 2 km from the campus.
From Shantinagar, take an auto-rickshaw (₹50-₹80) or a cab to CHRIST University.
Travel time: 2 to 2.5 hours.
Approximate fare: ₹250 - ₹350 (bus) + ₹50-₹80 (auto).
3. By Metro (Partially Metro + Taxi/Auto)
Take the KIA-8 bus from the airport to Baiyappanahalli Metro Station.
Board the Purple Line Metro towards Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic).
Switch to the Green Line Metro at Majestic and travel towards Yelachenahalli.
Get down at Lalbagh Metro Station or South End Circle Metro Station, both around 2 km from the campus.
Take an auto-rickshaw (₹50-₹80) or cab to reach the university.
Travel time: 2 to 2.5 hours.
